I Installed 20 Mods in GTA San Andreas to Make It Remastered

GTA San Andreas is a legendary game—but let’s face it it’s old. So I took on a challenge: install 20 carefully selected mods to transform it into a remastered version that looks and feels like a modern open-world title. From graphics and animations to sound and atmosphere every mod played a role in breathing new life into this classic.

What I Used to Remaster GTA San Andreas

To create a true remastered experience I combined visual gameplay and realism-enhancing mods. Here are some of the major upgrades I installed:

How I Installed Them

  1. Started with a clean copy of GTA San Andreas (v1.0 recommended).
  2. Installed Mod Loader to safely manage all mods.
  3. Installed CLEO 4 and Silent Patch to enable advanced scripting and fix bugs.
  4. Dropped all extracted mod folders into the modloader directory.
  5. Installed DirectX 3.0 ENB and copied ENB/ReShade files to the root folder.
  6. Replaced Models/gta3.img contents using IMG Tool or Mod Loader support.
  7. Added new radar and HUD files via modloader\HUD folder.
  8. Copied animation and sound replacement files into appropriate audio and anim folders.
  9. Adjusted ENB settings for smooth performance on a mid-range PC.
  10. Launched the game—and experienced GTA San Andreas like never before.

Conclusion

After installing 20 mods GTA San Andreas doesn’t feel like a 2004 game anymore—it feels like a whole remaster. The lighting the textures the realism the new vehicles and sounds—they all work together to deliver a completely new experience while keeping the heart of the original. If Rockstar doesn’t remaster it officially this is the next best thing.
